These four, single story cottages are set around a rustic courtyard
once used as a dairy cattle yard. From the outside these properties
have a working farm appearance but inside they are attractively
furnished and well appointed. They are situated in open, rolling,
arable farmland with delightful views across the fields. On your
doorstep, there are gentle walks along "Perrydown Lane" a
single track road with very few vehicles passing. This road is edged
with trees and wild flower verges and in turn leads to farm tracks and
public rights of way.
No.1 Maltings Farm is set apart from the others as its entrance does
not lead onto the courtyard, allowing a little more privacy. The view
from the French windows is of gentle rolling countryside with few
other houses to be seen.
Numbers 2, 3 and 4 Maltings Farm all face into the courtyard which
is dotted with tubs and beds planted with shrubs and flowers, there
are eating areas with tables, chairs and large umbrellas, there is
also a good sized barbecue for all to use. At the rear of the property
is a grassed area which may be used by all the holiday makers, also
situated at the rear is the small office from which we run our spiced
drinks business.
Our house is 50 yards along the road and we are usually on hand to
answer any questions you may have regarding the cottages or the local
shops or attractions.
The interior of the properties are decorated with gentle colours,
old polished pine doors and attractive cottage fabrics for the
furnishings and curtains. Leading from the entrance halls you will
find the main living areas have comfortable sofa/s and attractive
rustic furniture with old pine dining tables and chairs, coffee and
side tables etc. Of course all the properties have colour television
and well equipped kitchen areas with ample storage for foods etc. The
fridges have ice boxes with sufficient space for small amounts of
frozen foods (No.2 has a fridge-freezer).
The main bedrooms have a 4ft 6ins double bed with a continental
quilt and bed linen supplied. The bathrooms have a full size bath,
washbasin and lavatory, also a large airing cupboard and shaver
sockets etc. All the properties have fitted carpet throughout except
in the halls, kitchens and bathrooms which have vinyl flooring.
When we converted these holiday cottages we were careful to create
interesting and attractive layouts and we took great care in selecting
attractive furniture and fabrics, we have also ensured that they
remain at the same original standard. We have created four charming
holiday cottages of high standard and comfort set in the peaceful
Suffolk countryside.
